Restore Salmon RiversIt starts with
healthy habitats.

Wild salmon need healthy habitats, from rivers to estuaries to the ocean.

And we all need salmon. They support ecosystems and coastal communities across the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.

By joining a generational movement to revive damaged ecosystems—part of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration—we can help restore salmon rivers. But this will only succeed if everyone plays a part.

How it started.

Wild Salmon Day began in 2019 with leadership from the Government of British Columbia to celebrate wild salmon and raise awareness of the threats they face.

In 2025, the Atlantic Salmon Trust and Atlantic Salmon Federation joined the Pacific Salmon Foundation and First Nations Fisheries Council of BC to build international momentum for salmon recovery.

We invite organizations worldwide to join us and unite in support of wild salmon. Thank you to our partners and supporters for standing with us in this vital effort.

It will take all of us to write a brighter story for salmon.
